Finally, after a long wait, fans of Shankar and Kamal Haasan witnessed their favorite stars on the big screen with Indian 2. After two decades, the sequel to the film has been made. Helmed by S. Shankar, the movie was released on big screens today (July 12, 2024), and early reviews of the film are also out. While some have liked the film, others have criticized the storyline.
A user took to X and wrote, “#Indian2 – Underwhelming Performances. Even the talented #KamalHaasan can’t save this sinking ship. His character feels like a rehashing of his previous roles, lacking the depth and nuance that made him a legend. The supporting cast fares no better, failing to leave an impact.”

Indian 2 features an ensemble cast including Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with writing credits to Jayamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravanakumar. Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 has also been released in Hindi as Hindustani 2 and in Telugu as Bharateeyudu 2.
