Indian Idol 9 18 March 2017 episode recap: Shilpa Shetty teaches contestants and judges to beat stress in the easiest way; Mohit Chopra eliminated
Shilpa Shetty made everyone groove to her dance moves.
Indian Idol 9 had started the musical journey of several contestants. As the show has progressed, we have the Top 5 contestants now. And it is so difficult to choose just one favourite among the five extremely talented singers. Maalvika Sundar, L. Revanth, Khuda Baksh, Mohit Chopra ans PVNS Rohit. The competition is throat to throat. The episode was a wonderful combination of fun moments as well as emotional moments! Needless to say, all the singers gave tough competition to each other and it was so tough to decide whom to eliminate.
The episode started with the musical genius Maalvika Sundar singing the famous Pinga song from ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and bowled over Shilpa Shetty. Shilpa said how Maalvika has been her favourite since the beginning. The judges too praised her for the classical touch she gave the Marathi song.
Baahubali singer Revanth showed a new side to us as he sang Mohit Chauhan’s ‘Masakkali’ from ‘Delhi 6′. Revanth is one singer who never fails to surprise us. He gave the song the classic Revanth feel and nobody could have done it as good as him. He impressed all the judges, well, there’s nothing new in that. Anu Malik even offered to make him sing in one of his songs. He asked Shilpa for a dance post his performance. And they danced to Shilpa’s hit song “UP Bihar lootne’. It was fun to watch Revanth match steps with the dance diva.
Next in line was PVNS Rohit from Hyderabad. He made everyone groove with his rendition of ‘Humma Humma’. We saw everyone cheering for him as soon as he finished singing. Shilpa priased him and his infectious energy. Anu Mailk even called him the ‘actual surprise package of the show’. Sonu Nigam gave him the advice of ending the song on lighter notes.
Shilpa Shetty next went on to teach everyone a new asana to all the contestants and the judges on the set to beat stress and tension from our lives. She said how people who cannot afford to go to a gym or visit a nutrionist can follow such simple measures to live right.
Khuda Baksh dedicated his song to his father and moved everyone to tears. Shilpa Shetty, whose father recently passed away, got very emotional. But the fun part about his performance was that he gave Shilpa a fangirl moment. She seemed to be so smitten by him that she went to stage and asked for his autograph. Shilpa admitted that she is the biggest fan of Khuda Baksh and that she has a sisterly affection for him.
Mohit mesmerised everyone with his soulful rendition of ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye’ and sang it in a way only he could have. The judges were impressed by his song. But unfortunately, it was his last performance on Indian Idol today, as he got eliminated today and we have the Top 4 finalists now.
