Made in Rs 250 crore, this film undoubtedly earned triple its budget. Moreover, it became the fourth Indian film to enter Rs 1000-crore club.

This film turned out to be one of the unlikeliest all-time blockbusters in Indian cinema history. It is none than Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2, which is a follow up to the 2018 hit KGF: Chapter 1. The high-octane action drama set the box office on fire, earning Rs 1000 crore globally. It became highest-grossing film in 2022 and shattered several box office records along the way.

Made in Rs 250 crore, KGF 2 undoubtedly earned triple its budget. It recovered its entire cost on the opening day, earning Rs 159 crore. Moreover, the total earnings of the film worldwide was Rs 1215 crore.

KGF 2 is easily the highest-grossing film from the Kannada film industry. No other Kannada film has even earned one-fourth of its total box office gross. Moreover, KGF 2 was much bigger in scope and size than Part 1. The action scenes were relatively 4 or 5 times larger in scale. The fights were bolder and more elaborate. It was definitely more aggressive and louder than the first part.

KGF follows the story of Rocky (Yash), a boy rising from poverty to become the king of a gold mine. Apart from Yash, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt as villain. It marks his debut in Kannada cinema. It also features Raveena Tandon as an ambitious politician. Earlier, Raveena played a role of politician too in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Satta.

KGF 2 is the fourth Indian film to enter the Rs 1000-crore club domestically. Ahead of it are RRR ( ₹1115 crore), Baahubali: The Conclusion ( ₹1810 crore), Dangal ( ₹2024 crore) and Pathaan (Rs (1,050 crore)
