Insidious: Chapter 3, the third film in the horror movie series, will release in India on June 26, 2015. The horror film released in the US on June 5 and got mixed reviews, but it managed to garner more than USD 77 million at the box office in spite of competition from Jurassic World. It went on to make a neat profit.
Despite being the third film in the franchise, Insidious: Chapter 3 is not a sequel but a prequel. It is set before the Lambert family is haunted as seen in the earlier films. The third movie is written and directed by Leigh Whannell in his directorial debut.
From the trailer, Insidious: Chapter 3 seems like a typical horror film but that is sure to scare you in spite of its predictability. It stars Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott in main roles, along with Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell (yes, the director) and Lin Shaye from the previous films.
Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to contact the dead to help Quinn Brenner (Stefanie Scott), a teenage girl whose mother Lillith (Ele Keats) has recently passed away. Quinn sees her mother’s spirit often and thinks that she has been trying to reach out to her. Visiting Elise for a reading, she finds that a demonic presence threatens to kill Elise if she continues with the reading.
Panicking, Elise warns Quinn to stop trying to reach out to her mom. She warns her, saying, “If you call out to one of the dead, all of them can hear you.” But it’s too late now. Catch the trailer of Insidious: Chapter 3 here!
