Late legendary actress, Sridevi, won the Best Actress Award at the 65th National Film Awards held a few weeks ago. Pictures from the event had been doing the rounds for the longest time. Both Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor looked gorgeous in Indian wear. Janhvi was even seen donning her mother’s beautiful silk sari at the event. While her beautiful pictures keep doing the rounds over the internet, we have never got a chance to hear her voice. The shy and demure star kid loves her own privacy and hesitates to interact with the media, much like her late mother. However, the doting daughter, who was present at the National Awards’ event this year to receive the award on behalf of her mum, spoke to the media for the first time ever. When she was asked to comment on Sridevi’s National Award win, she was supremely proud of her mother’s achievement and said, “I think both of us (Khushi and I) would like to thank the jury for recognizing the hard work, perseverance and dedication that my mother has put into this role. It was very special to her and we are very happy that she is being appreciated for it.”  Additionally, she expressed her gratitude towards the Government of India for recognizing her mother’s achievement, once father Boney Kapoor prodded her to mention it.However, when she asked if she misses her mum, she became emotional and refused to comment on it. Previously, when the winner’s list was announced, Boney, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor gave out a joint statement for Sridevi’s win. They said, “We are overjoyed to know that the Jury has conferred the Best Actor Award to Sridevi for her performance in MOM. It’s a very special moment for all of us. She was always a perfectionist and it showed in all the 300 plus films she did. She was not just a super actor but a Super Wife and a Super Mom. Its time to celebrate her life and her achievements. She is not with us today but her legacy will always live on.”
