Jeetendra’s 72nd birthday present: The Dadasaheb Phalke Award!

The veteran Bollywood actor will be honoured with the prestigious award in cinema this year.

Yesteryear Bollywood actor Jeetendra could not have asked for a better birthday present. The veteran actor, born on April 7, 1942, will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2014.

The 72-year-old, known as Jumping Jack in his heydays for his dancing skills, will receive the country’s highest annual award in cinema later this year.

Jeetendra is a successful and award-winning actor-producer of Hindi cinema. His wife Shobha Kapoor and daughter Ekta Kapoor are successful TV and film producers of Balaji Telefilms, Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment of which he is Chairman. His son Tusshar Kapoor is an actor.

Tusshar tweeted his birthday greetings for his dad today, saying a few lines from a Bollywood song – “Baar baar din yeh aaye, baar baar dil yeh gaaye, tum.jeeyo hazaron saal…Happy Birthday to you!!Happy b’day to Papa!”
