In a shocking turn in the Jiah Khan suicide case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) says that Jiah’s boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi extricated her foetus, as she bled! The 25-year-old Jiah, who starred in Aamir Khan’s Ghajini (2008) last, was very serious about her relationship with actor Sooraj Pancholi. But Sooraj apparently broke the relationship before his debut in Salman Khan’s Hero. Not able to take the rejection, Jiah, who was pregnant with Sooraj’s child as is clear now, committed suicide on June 3, 2013. Sooraj spent some days in police custody and was charged with abetment of suicide. The case was later handed over to the CBI from the Mumbai police. These new details of the investigation have emerged after the CBI filed a charge sheet in the case on December 9, 2015. Mumbai Mirror reports that the chargesheet filed by the CBI yesterday gives graphic details of the way in which Sooraj ‘helped’ Jiah extricate her foetus, even as she was obviously bleeding profusely. The couple had apparently approached a doctor for medical termination of pregnancy, but that process went haywire. The foetus was aborted leading to hemorrhage. Sooraj then extricated the foetus and disposed of it in the toilet! Also Read - COVID-19 Can Lead To Depression, Anxiety in Pregnant Women

Sooraj is the son of Bollywood actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan, herself a yesteryear actress, had moved the Bombay High Court in 2013 that her daughter had been murdered and had not committed suicide. She demanded a CBI probe and filed a complaint against the Pancholi family.

Rabiya also reproduced the letter an emotional Jiah had written to Sooraj days before committing suicide. That letter went viral and it clearly showed Jiah was about to take an extreme step. Sooraj maintained that the letter was being misused by Jiah’s mother to make a case.

The charge sheet says about Jiah’s letter and Sooraj: “The wilful conduct of the accused narrated in the note written by the deceased, her intimate relationship, the physical abuse, the mental and physical torture which she experienced, allegedly led the deceased to commit suicide.” The CBI further stated, “…the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial”.
