Los Angeles, Jun 12: Hollywood star Johnny Depp is still attached to Bret Ratner’s forthcoming sex scandal movie “The Libertine”, the director’s representative has confirmed. There were reports that due to his personal turmoil it wasn’t clear if the 53-year-old actor would star in the movie or not but Ratner’s rep has cleared the air about his casting and said the film is in development stage, reported People magazine. “Johnny is absolutely still attached. Brett is very excited to work with him,” the rep said. The film is broadly based on the case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, a French politician who was accused of sexual assault by a hotel maid in 2011. Ratner first announced his plans for the film at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Depp’s estranged wife Amber Heard filed for divorce from him last month. She later claimed that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor had been both “verbally and physically abusive” to her throughout the “entirety” of their relationship.
