Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the film is likely to go on the floors later this year and is expected to release next year. Reportedly, the Kabali actor has given a 40-day call sheet for the yet-untitled film. Also, recently, the makers announced that Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play the antagonist in the film. Reports also suggests that Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film. The actor, who is currently in the US, will return to Chennai later this week to attend the grand audio launch of Kaala in Chennai. The ‘Kabali’ star awaits the release of the much-awaited ‘Kaala’, which is slated to release on June 7. Helmed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala is a story of a man, who hails from Tamil Nadu but escapes to Mumbai. It traces his journey to becoming the righteous gangster from the Dharavi slums in the financial capital of the country. Kaala marks the 164th film of Rajinikanth’s elaborate career in which the actor essays the role of a slumlord-turned-gangster. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars actors Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
