Mumbai, Oct 8: Cancelling of Ghazal Singer Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai has now gained Shiv Sena criticisms from Bollywood also. Kamaal R Khan, Dolly Bindra and Rakhi Sawant have voiced their opinion against the regional party Shiv Sena for cancelling Ali’s concert in Mumbai. According to Khan, Shiv Sena is just trying get attention with their tactics.
Khan said, “If Ghulam Ali’s concert is cancelled because he is from Pakistan, everyone from Fawad Khan to Adnan Sami should be banned from coming to India. Why is just Ali being targeted? These are Shiv Sena’s tactics to come to limelight. Sena is making issue out of nothing.”
Bollywood’s item girl Rakhi Sawant also opposed Shiv Sena’s stand and said that this practice is wrong. Bigg Boss Fame actress Dolly Bindra is also against the stand of the party. She said that art does not have religion or region, art in any form should be encouraged. She said, “Ghulam Ali is a great singer and we all respect him, just a decision is discouraging. Sena had cleared their stand on the issue saying that they are not against any cultural association with Pakistan but do not want to have ties with a country that kills our soldiers. Chitrapat Sena’s general secretary Akshay Badrapurkar said, “They are against us, why should we let their singers perform here.” Sena Chairperson, Aditya Thackeray said, “We cannot sit and enjoy and music in Mumbai while soldiers are being martyred in Kashmir. There has to be some sort of boycott.”
Earlier, Ghulam Ali has performed at Varanasi and also received praised for the same. He had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the visit. According to NDTV, Ghulam was deeply hurt by the move. He said, “I have always got love in India. Such controversies spoil the sur of music.”
