Kashmera Shah on How Mama Govinda Gave Blessings to Her And Kids: ‘Bent Down to Touch His Feet, But he Didn’t’

Kashmera Shah previously mentioned that she would apologize to Govinda by touching his feet if he attends Arti Singh's wedding.

Krushna Abhishek’s sister Arti Singh tied the knot with Beau Dipak Chauhan on April 25 in the presence of close friends and family. More charm was added to the event when Krushna’s uncle and actor Govinda was also papped in the ceremony. The Bollywood superstar resolved his eight-year-long feud with Arti’s brother Krushna Abhishek and bestowed blessings upon the bride on her special day. Now, Krushna’s wife Kashmera Shah talked about how happy everyone in the family was after seeing Govinda attending the wedding. 

Previously, Kashmera had expressed her intention to apologize to Govinda by touching his feet if he attended Arti’s wedding. Now, she has disclosed that despite her attempts, Govinda prevented her from bending down and instead blessed her with the words “Jeete raho, khush raho.”

“He was angry with Krushna and me, but not with Arti. I hoped he attended the ceremony for her, and I am glad he did. As luck would have it, I was the only one present at the entrance welcoming the guests when he entered, while Krushna was with Arti on stage. He and I were walking on opposite sides, and it felt surreal, to be honest,” Kashmera told E-Times.

She further added, “Our eyes met; I bowed with a namaste, and he smiled back. I walked up to him and straightaway took him to the stage. I bent down to touch his feet, but he didn’t let me, just like how elders stop you from bending down and bless you before that. He said, ‘Jeete raho, khush raho’. I bent to touch his feet. That is the apology. As a daughter-in-law, I had to do it.”

Govinda Blessed Kashmera’s Kids 

Shah revealed that she introduced her to Govinda, and the actor happily hugged both the boys and blessed them. “He hugged them, and that was it for me. We don’t have any elder in the family other than him, and he is my mama-sasur. I am so happy he blessed my kids,” she said.

Govinda has been estranged from his nephew Krushna Abhishek, Arti’s elder brother, since their significant fallout in 2016. They have frequently exchanged statements against each other. Consequently, there was uncertainty regarding Govinda’s attendance at Arti’s wedding, particularly after he missed the TV star’s Haldi, Sangeet, and Mehendi ceremonies.
