Katrina Kaif Birthday: Did Katrina’s lost charm result in her fallout from film industry?

Katrina Kaif, born on July 16, 1983, celebrates her 33^rd birthday today. The actress has come a long way since her debut in Bollywood. She is one of the most sought after actresses with a huge fan following in the industry. Kaif has worked in more than 20 films since her debut in 2003. She is one of most searched celebrities on the internet and has immense popularity among the youths. But in the past few years, we have seen a drastic downfall in her career graph. (ALSO READ: OMG! Katrina’s last film Fitoor, which was based on Charles Dicken’s book Great Expectations badly tanked at the box office. The film also received poor reviews from the critics as well. Moreover, her rumoured breakup with Ranbir Kapoor had kept her in news for a while now. At present, Kat has only two films in her kitty; Baar Baar Dekho with Sidharth Malhotra and the infamous Jagga Jasoos, which is yet to be finished. Ranbir and Katrina’s split had adversely affected the upcoming Anurag Basu film. The shooting of the film has been delayed invariably and it is yet to be completed. The makers have announced that Jagga Jasoos will release only by 2017.

But has Katrina Kaif lost her charm in all these years. The British beauty, who is also reckoned as the Indian Barbie doll, isn’t any more counted up on by producers and directors. Yes, she was flocked with offers for films and commercials at one time and now we barely get to see her. We think the younger lot of actresses seems to have taken over the industry with a storm. They are beautiful, they act, they dance and moreover, they are looking forward to embrace innovation willingly. They go a long way to get into the skin of the character and some sing as well. So filmmakers get multiple things in one package, which is definitely an added advantage. If you look back at Katrina’s filmography, you would hardly recall any significant role essayed by her. She has never tried to experiment with her looks either, Kat looks all the same in all her movies. Last she tried to color her hair red for Fitoor, and it turned out to be a major disaster too.

Moreover, all these years her performances never got acknowledged except in a few films, such as New York and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. She was also majorly roped in to perform item numbers in a lot of films, which went on to become blockbuster songs of all times. Some of her popular songs include, Sheila Ki Jawani and Chikni Chameli.
