Here’s a bad news for Katrina Kaif fans but a great news for Shraddha Kapoor fans as the former has been replaced by Shraddha to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in upcoming film Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Looks like, Katrina’s fans might have to wait for some more time to see her with Shahid Kapoor in a movie again. Reports had suggested that the makers of Batti Gul Meter Chalu had approached Katrina to be the leading lady in the film and Katrina too showed interest in this project but the negotiations process was taking too long to seal the deal. According to the latest reports, the makers are looking to replace her with Shraddha Kapoor. A source close to the project, in a statement to Mid-Day, revealed, “Negotiations with Shraddha are on. She is yet to give her nod. But, she should be able to work on it.” It’s is an interesting development as fans will love to watch Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s chemistry onscreen. The two had earlier wowed us with their brilliant performance and amazing chemistry in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider. So, are you excited to see them back together in this upcoming film? Well, there’s another interesting development with regards to the movie. While earlier the film was touted to be a legal drama, where Shahid Kapoor would fight the corruption in the electricity board, but looks like now the makers of the film want to make it a little lighter and turn it into a satire a la his debut movie, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha Batti Gul Meter Chalu is written by Rustom fame Vipul K Rawal and is helmed by Shree Narayan Singh.
