The 55th Kerala State Film Awards ceremony was a grand celebration of Malayalam cinema’s finest works. Held on November 3, the event recognized and honored outstanding performances, direction, and technical achievements in the industry. The ceremony took place at Ramanilayam in Thrissur, with Minister for Culture and Films Saji Cherian announcing the winners.
The survival drama “Manjummel Boys” directed by Chidambaram S Poduval dominated the ceremony, winning nine awards, including Best Film and Best Director. The film’s gripping storyline and outstanding performances were widely praised by the audience and critics alike.
Mammootty won the Best Actor award for his haunting portrayal in “Bramayugam”, marking his seventh Best Actor award and cementing his position as one of the most talented actors in Malayalam cinema. Shamla Hamza won the Best Actress award for her powerful performance in “Feminichi Fathima”.
