There is bad news for the fans of the popular reality show “Bigg Boss Kannada” in Karnataka. The State Pollution Control Board has issued an order to close the show’s studio with immediate effect. The studio is located in the Bidadi area of Bengaluru South district, where the show has been shooting for many years. But now the show has been ordered to close down immediately.
A company named “Wells Studios and Entertainment Private Limited” had started large-scale entertainment and studio operations without the necessary permits. The board clarified that the studio had not obtained the necessary permits under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The board’s letter says, “Large-scale entertainment activities and studio operations are being organized in your area without obtaining the necessary establishment and operating consent. Therefore, all activities should be stopped immediately and an explanation should be submitted within the stipulated time.”

The board issued this order on October 6, 2025, and copies of it were also sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Ramanagara district, the Managing Director of BESCOM, and the Electrical Engineer. They have been asked to cooperate in implementing this directive. The board warned that legal punitive action will be taken against the company if the order is not followed.
The “Bigg Boss Kannada” studio has been on a specially constructed set in Bidadi for the past several seasons. The show, hosted by Kiccha Sudeep, is one of the most popular television shows in Karnataka. It is known for its superb production quality and high viewership.
But the order could have an immediate impact on the show’s filming and broadcast. It will be interesting to see how the producers navigate this legal wrangling – will they find a new location or resume production once environmental clearances are granted? This raises important questions not only about the entertainment industry but also about environmental compliance.
