Karan Johar after making people fall in love with his idea of romance twenty years back in his debut film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai says that film’s much-fancied hero Rahul was ‘a bit of a fraud’. Yes, you heard us right. The 1998 film was a commercial blockbuster hit and the three main leads of the film Rahul ( Shah Rukh Khan), Anjali (Kajol) and Tina (Rani Mukherji) are even popular today and their famous dialogue from ‘Pyar dosti hai’ to ‘Kuch Kuch hota hai Rahul, tum nahi samjhoge’ is still on their people’s mind. In an interview with PTI, when Johar was asked how would Anjali and Rahul be today two decades later, he said, “Rahul was a bit of a fraud anyway. He used to say ‘we love once, marry once’ but did it twice. In my head, I hope the marriage works, but it must have been a tough marriage. “I hope the little Anjali (Sana Saeed) isn’t messed up, because at eight she was loaded with so much information.” Also Read - Twitter Engagement Rankings: Kunal Kamra, Tejashwi Yadav Score Big | Full List of Winners

Johar also credits the film for his successful innings at Bollywood and said it was a great learning experience. Also Read - Nepotism to Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death, All The Controversies Involving Karan Johar

Talking about the fun moments in the film, he recalled, “I remember every single moment from the film. I remember all the struggles, the joy, the fun while making.”

The film’s first scene never made it to its final cut.

Johar said, “It was a doctor’s set with Shah Rukh in it and I had directed it poorly but he (Shah Rukh) was kind. When I shot that dentist scene, I edited immediately and showed it to him. I realised it was a bad scene and told him about it.

“Farah did the songs and Shah Rukh said, I should supervise it. Then I got confidence. Now I always tell first-time directors to start with a song because the atmosphere is fun and light so you can settle with your characters and then start your film.” He added.

On the work front, Karan will be seen as a judge in season eight of India’s Got Talent on Colors, along with Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan. He will also host Koffee With Karan season 6.
