In Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise Bhi, you see that Sonakshi is stunned to see that Dev has learnt to arrange his clothes in the wardrobe finally. But Dev fears telling the truth to her as she might be hurt knowing that he took his mother’s help. Dev’s mamaji is looking for something and is taking Ishwari’s help for the same. While scanning through old papers, Ishwari comes across Dev’s birth certificate. She is proud to be Dev’s mother as that was the happiest part of her life. Mamaji suggests to do aarti for Dev at his birth time which is 12 am, instead of doing it in the morning.
On the other hand, Sonakshi and Dev are planning to celebrate his birthday together with a night out. This will also ensure that Ishwari gets the full day to spend with her son on this special day. As Ishwari and Mamaji are making plans about celebrating Dev’s birthday, Nikki notices them. She finds about the special plan her mother made and decides to join them. Mamaji requests her to keep this plan a secret and not inform anyone about the same. But Nikki couldn’t contain her excitement and informs Rhea about the plan too. On the breakfast table, Dev spills the breakfast on his shirt spoiling it. She asks Dev to clean it immediately as it would leave no stains. Dev rushes to Ishwari instead of doing it himself. He makes cute face in front of her telling her that Sonakshi wanted him to do these things on her own. Ishwari agrees to help him without informing Sonakshi about the same.
Sonakshi, who has already left for office, has returned home since she forgot to take her mobile phone. She bumps into Radha Rani who begins to taunt Sonakshi for making Dev do his work. Sonakshi once again clarifies that she only wants to make Dev independent. Radha Rani informs Sonakshi to find out what Dev is doing in his mother’s room. Ishwari is ironing Dev’s shirt and assures him that he need not worry about these stuffs as she will arrange his cupboard before Sonakshi is back. But Sonakshi hears their conversation. She runs to her room angrily and with tears in her eyes. She is upset that Dev lied to her and not informed her about the truth. All the while she was praising Dev for becoming independent and he stayed silent. Dev says that he has tried to do things on his own and even iron his clothes but he injured himself in the process. Sonakshi says that she must have informed her about this instead of taking his mother’s help. Dev says that he cannot change himself and adapt to new settings at any cost. Soon, their discussion turns into an argument and they begin to scream at each other. Ishwari realises that the situation has become hostile and enters the room. She hears Sonakshi call Dev Mumma’s boy and wonders what it means.
