Popular Television actor Kunal Jaisingh, who shot to fame with his character Omkara in the much-celebrated show Ishqbaaaz, surprised his fans by getting engaged to The Buddy Project actress (his longtime girlfriend) Bharati Kumar, in Mumbai on Sunday (March 18). The couple exchanged rings amidst close family and friends at the ISKON temple in Juhu.
The couple, who is said to have met on the sets of The Buddy Project (which ran between 2012 and 2014) and instantly hit it off, preferred to keep their relationship under wraps. Speaking about the same, the actor, in a statement with Bombay Times, said, “I had my reasons, but it was definitely not because I am an actor and I feared losing out on projects. We wanted our parents to know about it before announcing the news to the world. Except for a few close friends, no one knew that the couple has been dating each other for about five years. Kunal and Bharati decided to take their relationship to the next level after their families met and gave a nod to their love story. Kunal further told the daily, “I am happy that my parents agreed to our match. I have always wanted to settle down with a girl like Bharti… she is homely, genuine, humble and respects elders. These are qualities that are difficult to find in today’s women.”
Talking about how Kunal proposed to his ladylove, Kunal added, “There were no romantic proposals, we just decided to be with each other. The wedding will happen soon.” Reportedly, Kunal and Bharti will get married by the year-end. Doesn’t the couple complement each other? We can’t wait for their grand wedding already.
