A number of movies have been made on legendary Telugu movie star and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao, and not to be outdone, director Ram Gopal Varma has come up with a version of his own. Titled Lakshmi’s NTR, the biopic is being created from the perspective of NTR’s wife, Lakshmi Parvathi. The first look from the movie is out, and we can say that RGV has been spot on in choosing the face for the main character. While the songs and posters have failed to get any sort of response from the audience, it is hoped that the clip will help generate an interest for the film.
The film, which is based on factual events related to NTR after Lakshmi Parvathi came into his life, will have Kannada actress Yagna Shetty playing the role of Lakshmi, with a small-time actor playing Chandra Babu Naidu in the movie.
Earlier, when the poster for the biopic was released, RGV found himself at the centre of a massive controversy, and he had then said that the film would showcase what really happened in NTR’s life and also “expose those who back-stabbed the hugely popular leader”.
Produced by Rakesh Reddy with its music by Kalyani Malik, the movie is expected to be released on January 24, 2019.
