What began as a late-night disagreement inside a popular Bengaluru pub has now turned into a full-blown talking point on social media. Videos showing a heated exchange at Bastian, a restaurant and pub co-owned by actor Shilpa Shetty, have gone viral—prompting the Bengaluru police to step in and initiate a probe.
The incident reportedly took place around 1:30 am on December 11 at Bastian, located on St Mark’s Road. CCTV clips circulating online capture a group of patrons engaged in a loud argument, with visible tension and heckling inside the premises. While the footage shows raised voices and an intense exchange, no physical assault can be clearly seen.
What exactly happened at the pub?
According to preliminary information, the chaos stemmed from a minor dispute over settling the bill. What should have been a routine payment allegedly escalated into an argument among customers. Pub staff soon intervened, stepping in to defuse the situation and restore order.
Among those spotted in the viral clips is businessman Satya Naidu, a former Bigg Boss contestant and the ex-husband of a television anchor. His presence added fuel to the online chatter, pushing the incident further into the spotlight.
What is Satya Naidu’s response?
Addressing the allegations, Satya Naidu denied any misconduct. He stated that he had gone to the pub only for dinner with friends and insisted that the disagreement occurred solely during the billing process. Naidu also clarified that there was no physical altercation and dismissed claims of unruly behaviour.
Is Shilpa Shetty directly involved?
Shilpa Shetty is not seen in the footage and was not present during the incident. She partnered with renowned restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, founder of the Bastian brand, in 2019. While her name has surfaced due to her association with the establishment, there has been no personal comment from the actor so far.

Confirming the development, the Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police said that the police have taken suo motu cognisance of the incident. Those involved have been summoned for questioning, and officials are currently examining the CCTV footage along with individual statements.
