Malayalam’s latest blockbuster superhero film, Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra is shattering box office records ever since its release on 28 August. Helmed by Dominic Arun and bankrolled by Dulquer Salmaan, the film has become the highest Malayalam grosser of all time, even surpassing Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan in worldwide collections. The film, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan continues to attract crowds week after week. Meanwhile, the film’s producer, Dulquer Salmaan, has addressed the rumours of its OTT release.

Bursting these rumours, Dulquer took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and shared with fans that they will have to wait a bit longer to watch the film on OTT. Setting box office records

According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, Lokah’s worldwide collection now stands at Rs 268 crore. The film has not just shattered box office records of Mohanlal’s superhit releases like Empuraan and Thudarum, but also became the highest female-oriented grosser in South India.

Before its OTT release, the film is expected to cross the Rs 300 crore milestone. In addition to Naslen and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles, Durga Vinod, Chandu Salimkumar, Tovino Thomas, Dulquer Salmaan, Arun Kurian and Sam Mohan also play important parts in this superhero thriller. From its powerful scenes and intriguing narrative, Lokah has managed to captivate audience across South and beyond. It’s engaging performances, dramatic visual effects and strong background score have a set a new milestone for Malayalam fantasy epics.
