Madhuri Dixit finally reveals why she quit movies at the peak of her career, married Shriram Nene, says ‘I never thought…’
Madhuri Dixit talks about why she had quit the entertainment industry at the peak of her career.
Madhuri Dixit is one of the most iconic actors from the ’90s who still weaves magic with her acting and dance on the big screen. She has delivered a number of blockbuster hit movies with several leading actors including Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Shah Rukh Khan, amongst others. She was one of the biggest female actors in the cinema during the ’90s.
However, when she was at the highest peak of her career, she decided to quit movies and get married to her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, leaving everyone shocked. In a recent interview, she revealed the reason behind her decision.
Madhuri Dixit says that she has no regrets
In an interview with Galatta India, the actor talked about her decision to get married and move away from the limelight at the peak of her career in 1999. She talked about her conscious choice and said that she has no regrets to date.
Madhuri Dixit described her marriage as a realization of her dreams. She said, “I met the right person for me. This is the man I want to marry. Everybody dreams for themselves, and for me, it was about having a house, a husband, a family and kids. I love kids, so having them was a big part of my dream.”
Madhuri Dixit says she never missed being in the spotlight
After tying the knot, Madhuri Dixit moved to Colorado, The United States, for over a decade living a quieter life, away from the limelight. She mentioned, “I was very happy because, for me, the paraphernalia was not very important. I loved acting, dancing, and everything about my profession, but the fame and attention were just bonuses. I never saw myself as someone who had to stay in the public eye.”
When asked if she missed the limelight when she was away from the celebrity life, she confidently said, “I didn’t, because I was living my dream.” Madhuri Dixit, along with her husband and two sons, Arin and Ryan, returned back to India in 2011.
Why Madhuri Dixit said yes to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Recently, she was seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. In a conversation with ANI, she revealed why she decided to do the movie and said, “I heard the story, I liked it very much. Anees (Bazmee) had told the whole script and I felt that my character comes in a very important turn in the film. The entry was very amazing and the confusion after that was also amazing. I had never done a film of this genre, so I thought I had to do it.”
Reportedly, Madhuri Dixit will be seen, alongside Triptii Dimri, in Suresh Triveni’s dramedy next.
