Prabhavathi a.k.a. Prabha is the character played by Jyothika in the upcoming Tamil drama ‘Magalir Mattum’. The renowned actress of Kollywood plays the role of a documentary filmmaker and you’ll get to see it in the trailer which released today. Yes, Jyothika’s husband Suriya who is the producer of this movie has released the trailer and fans just can’t stop going gaga after watching it. This is a female-centric movie and Jyothika plays the lead role. After getting hitched with Suriya, the actress stayed away from the industry for a while. In 2015 she made a comeback with ‘36 Vayadhinile’ and it was super-hit. Now the mother of two is all set to shine on the silver screen with ‘Magalir Mattum’. ‘Magalir Mattum’ is directed and written by National Award winner Bramma. It is his second film after ‘Kuttram Kadithal’ that released in 2015. This movie revolves around the lives of housewives played by Saranya, Urvashi and Bhanupriya. The trailer clearly shows how a modern and independent Jyothika leads these women and brings a change in their lives. This upcoming movie is inspired by a true story and we are sure, it’ll be a great watch. In an interview Jyothika had once said that she’s keen to do strong female-oriented movies and looks like she has the perfect one in hand. Jyothika has also dubbed for the first time in this Tamil film. For those of you who don’t know, Suriya has a cameo role in this and his fan girls are dying to catch a glimpse of him. In 1994 veteran actor Kamal Haasan had produced a film with the same title ‘Magalir Mattum’ which starred Revathy, Urvasi and Rohini in key roles. It is said that Suriya’s home production took Haasan’s permission to use the title. The film is expected to release in May this year.
