A recent video by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has sparked a major online debate after viewers noticed Janhvi Kapoor’s before-and-after pictures used in the thumbnail. The video, which talks about “fake beauty” and cosmetic procedures, quickly went viral. Soon after, several social media users began claiming that Rathee deliberately targeted Janhvi Kapoor because she had earlier shared a post supporting Bangladeshi Hindus.

How did the controversy start?

The controversy intensified when screenshots of social media posts began circulating online. One such post claimed that Janhvi Kapoor spoke up for Bangladeshi Hindus and was then attacked by Dhruv Rathee through his video. Responding to the backlash, Rathee released a fresh video where he directly addressed the allegations and clarified his stand.

At the start of the video, he read out a viral caption that said, “Wake Up Hindus. Janhvi Kapoor posted for Bangladeshi Hindu & Dhruv Rathee made a video questioning her beauty.”

What did Dhruv Rathee say?

Reacting to the claims, Rathee dismissed the allegations and questioned the logic behind them. He said, “Tumhe Bhagwan ne dimag diya hai, kyun nahi istemal karte iska? Matlab BJP ke IT cell wale jo post dalte rahenge, tum usse andhadhun yakeen karte rahoge. Pehli chiz toh jis din Janhvi Kapoor ne post daali, usi din maine aadhe ghante ka video dal diya. Kya yeh realistically possible hai?”

He further added, “Dusra maine khud Bangladeshi Hindus ke upar reel banayi, toh main uss chiz ko lekar kyun criticise karunga? Main tum logo ki tarah nahi ho ke kisiko indirectly criticise karta. Main jo bolna hota hai mou pe bolta hoon. Naa main tumhare papa se darta aur naa hie main kisi Bollywood celebrity se darta.”

Why Janhvi Kapoor was used in the thumbnail?

Dhruv Rathee explained that Janhvi Kapoor was used in the thumbnail because she is one of the few Bollywood actresses who has openly acknowledged undergoing cosmetic procedures. According to him, the choice had nothing to do with her political or social media posts.

The reaction of Janhvi Kapoor’s best friend

Amid the backlash, Janhvi Kapoor’s close friend Orry came out in her support and criticised Rathee in the comments section of an Instagram video. He wrote, “She probably doesn’t even know who he is.” Orry also labelled Rathee as anti-nationalist in another remark. As of now, Janhvi Kapoor has not issued any statement regarding the controversy.
