Malang Box Office: Aditya Roy Kapur‘s Malang finally got a record to its name. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, registered the biggest first weekend for the actor after his debut release Aashiqui 2 that hit the screens in 2013. Malang collected Rs 25.36 crore in its opening weekend after earning Rs 9.76 crore on Sunday. The film opened at Rs 6.71 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 8.89 crore on Saturday. Trade analyst called Malang’s first-weekend collection ‘decent’. He took to Twitter to share the latest Box Office earnings of the film and wrote, “#Malang records decent weekend… Witnesses growth on Day 2 and 3, but jump on Day 3 is missing… Multiplexes improve… Mass circuits fair… Important to maintain the momentum on weekdays… Fri 6.71 cr, Sat 8.89 cr, Sun 9.76 cr. Apart from Aditya Roy Kapur, the film also features Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in the lead. It’s the whole revenge, relationship, deceit drama with a love story running in the background. The film’s songs and the steamy chemistry between Aditya and Disha are a few highlights of the movie and something that has attracted the audience to the theatres. For Aditya, however, Malang has emerged as a successful outing and his most successful solo film so far. His last solo release – Fitoor (2016), Daawat-E-Ishq (2014) and OK Jaanu (2017) dared badly at the ticket window. Already hit by the Tanhaji wave at the Box Office, Malang is further going to get affected by the release of Love Aaj Kal that featured Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan in the lead. The Imtiaz Ali directorial is hitting the screens as the big Valentine’s Day release and Malang doesn’t seem to have many days to enjoy a good run.
