Malayalam star Dileep who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the abduction and the assault of a lead Malayalam actress has been in Aluva Jail for the last two months. He was reportedly let out for two hours today to carry out the traditions of his father’s death anniversary. The actor’s lawyer had apparently forwarded a special request to the court on behalf of the actor which it gave its consent for. Dileep was thus released from jail for two hours amid tight security and a huge crowd that was gathered around him.
Reports indicate that the actor was received by his wife, Kavya Madhavan and daughter, Meenakshi, at their residence at 8 in the morning. Once the rights were carried out the actor was again taken back to the jail amid heavy security. His wife and daughter had paid him a visit at Aluva Jail before he visited their residence today. Besides, actors such as Jayaram, Suresh Krishna and Kalabhayan Shajohn among others also paid him a visit in the prison.
The actor was arrested on July 10 and since then the prosecutor has repeatedly stated that there is strong evidence against him proving his involvement in the Malayalam actress’ abduction case. Additionally, Pulsar Sunil, the main accused in the case has revealed that the husband-wife duo (Dileep and Kavya) are the masterminds behind the plan. While Dileep and his wife have stated that they have no knowledge of Pulsar Sunil and his claims, he has time and again stated that he knows them as he was the couple’s driver. Dileep has reportedly applied for bail several times—once at the Magistrate Court and twice at the High Court. However, he was rejected all of those three times based on the fact that he could potentially influence the witnesses in the case which could eventually cause a hurdle in the investigation. Amidst all the allegations and investigations, the memory card allegedly containing all the uncensored content is yet to be recovered which will act as a decisive factor. Meanwhile, the Malayalam actor’s judicial custody has been extended till September 16. The case has indeed become very interesting and it would now be intriguing to see what happens next.
