Ever since Dileep has been reinstated in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), Mohanlal who has taken over as the President of the body has been getting criticised. Mohanlal has been slammed by members and fans on social media for supporting Dileep and lifting his suspension. Last year, Dileep was involved in the 2017 abduction and molestation case of the Malayalam actor. Mohanlal has now released a statement and also assured that AMMA will look into the grievances against reinstatement of Dileep. In his statement, the AMMA President stated, “We wholeheartedly accept the criticism being raised against the move. Some members who were not part of the annual general body meeting have announced their intention to leave the association. Four female actors including Remya Nambeesan, Geethu Mohandas, and Rima Kallingal have recently tendered their resignation from the association after AMMA lifted Dileep’s suspension. On July 11 last year, Dileep was removed from AMMA due to his involvement in the Malayalam actress’s abduction and rape case. According to reports, senior actors decided to take Dileep back in the body while several members of WCC stayed away from the meeting.
