Marathi Filmfare Awards 2017: Priyanka Chopra Gets Overwhelmed As Ventilator Gets 15 Nominations And 5 Awards
Priyanka Chopra's Ventilator is about a father-son relationship
Priyanka Chopra’s Marathi film (as a producer) ‘Ventilator’ is grabbing all the limelight at Marathi Filmfare Awards 2017. Rajesh Mapuskar helmed Ventilator got whopping fifteen nominations in the awards. What’s more interesting is the film bagged 5 awards in various categories. Best Screenplay and Best Debut Director Awards were clinched by Rajesh Mapuskar. Rameshwar Bhagat took away the Best Editing trophy and Sanjay Maurya & Allwyn Rego took away awards for Best Sound Design. The film revolved around a father- son relationship and director Ashutosh Gowariker made his comeback in acting space after 18 years.
Talking about the achievement, Priyanka Chopra was quoted saying by Pinkvilla.com, “As a producer, I couldn’t have asked for anything more for my first Marathi venture. It’s such an honor for us at Purple Pebble Pictures and the entire team of Ventilator. 15 nomination, we’re truly overwhelmed. It’s a testament to Rajesh Mapuskar, Jitendra Joshi, Ashutosh Gowariker, Dr. Madhu Chopra and everyone who worked as a team, bringing their incredible skills to the mix and coming together to deliver such an amazing film. Now even though Priyanka Chopra is neck deep busy in the west, her work in the regional space is getting tremendously appreciated. The film definitely deserved all the appreciation and accolades that it got with such a beautiful topic put out so wonderfully.
