Johannesburg, Mar. 24: Australian actress Margot Robbie has been roped in to play disgraced OlympianTonya Harding in the upcoming biopic titled ‘I, Tonya.’ The 25-year-old actress has been cast in the biopic as the professional ice skater whose former husband Jeff Gillooly and her bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt infamously hired a man to try and break her rival Nancy Kerrigan’s right leg at the 1994 US Figure Skating Championships in Detroit in order to stop her competing at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Channel 24 reports. However, Kerrigan only suffered bruises as a result of the beating and was able to compete at the Lillehammer Olympics, winning a silver medal while Harding, on the other hand, came eighth at the Olympics. ‘I, Tonya’ is being produced by Bryan Unkeless and Robbie and is written by Steven Rogers.
