Born in 1956, the actor in discussion is Anil Kapoor. His father, Surinder Kapoor, was a film producer, and his mother was Nirmal Kapoor. Anil was the second of four children. Anil’s family roots were spread deep in Bollywood as his father was a cousin of the legendary Raj Kapoor, and both shared the same dream of leaving an impact on the industry.
In the early days, the Kapoor family fell prey to financial crises. Initially, they lived in Prithviraj Kapoor’s garage. However, later, they moved to a chawl. Though Anil Kapoor faced many challenges throughout his initial days, he did not give up and eventually became a leading star in Bollywood.
In 1979, Anil Kapoor made his Hindi film debut with the film Hamare Tumhare. He had a small role in the film. Over the years, Anil made a name for himself in the industry. In 1983, Anil Kapoor’s first lead role came when he featured in Woh Saat Din alongside Padmini Kolhapure and Naseeruddin Shah.
Over the next few years, Anil became a part of some hit films such as Beta, Mr. India, Chameli Ki Shaadi, Karma, Tezaab, Eeshwar, Ram Lakhan, Laadla, and Nayak.
Though Anil worked with several actresses, his pairing with Sridevi was said to be a super-duper hit. The actor did some iconic movies with her, such as Beta, Mr. India, Chameli Ki Shaadi, Karma, Tezaab, Eeshwar, Ram Lakhan, Laadla, and Nayak.
However, do you know that Anil Kapoor once turned down films with Sridevi, not once but twice? The reason for Anil quitting those films was that Sridevi’s stardom might overshadow Kapoor’s performance. Hence, he said no to movies including Chandni and Chaalbaaz.
Today, Anil Kapoor is one of the most well-known actors in Bollywood. He was last seen in Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
