Indian cinema has its way of making a film, unlike Hollywood, Indian film comprises hard-punching dialogues and many dance numbers which eventually add depth to the film. An actor has its ups and downs, while we see Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan known for his acting, others excel at other elements. Today we will tell you about an actor who is well known for his dancing style. Yes, you read that right, people mocked him for his dance. However, despite all the criticism he went on to become one of the biggest names in Bollywood and is vividly remembered for his funky grooves.
Despite coming from a film background, this actor’s father starred in over 30 films as a hero, however he failed to make his mark in the film industry due to financial strain. Being the sixth member of the family, this actor went on to rebuild his career in Indian cinema. Now, everybody recognises his impressive dancing style. Still couldn’t figure out which actor we are talking about?
The actor in question is none other than Bollywood’s iconic actor Govinda himself. Despite not appearing on big screens, his versatile acting and impressive dancing has won the audiences’ heart. During a conversation with a media house, actor Adi Irani who has mostly worked as a co-star with Govinda recalled the days working alongside with the actor. He revealed that he and his friends used to mock Govind for his unique dancing style. But, they weren’t aware of the popularity that Govinda gained from his dancing.
“While we were not together from day one, our struggle in the industry started almost together. He used to visit the studio where I learned dancing, and at that point, me and my friends used to make fun of his style of dancing. We had no idea that one day that particular style would blow up and he would be known for it; we were fools for laughing at him,” said Adil
Adil Irani further revealed that he would feel insecure around Govinda because with his presence many of his sequences were altered giving away limelight to Govinda. Adil emphasised how Govinda’s presence impacted others around him, which eventually brought changes in dialogue delivery and many other elements. “He would read the scene and then would go on to change everything, not just his role but also the way people were acting around him in a scene. He would try to change the scene in a way that would help him shine over others in the frame,” he added.
Recently, Govinda’s relationship made the headlines where media reports claimed that Govinda and his wife Sunita were reportedly heading for divorce. However, after a while the rumours were put to end. The couple are parents of two children, Yashwardhan and Tina.
