Every day, thousands arrive in Mumbai chasing dreams of success. While some make it big, others spend their whole lives searching for it. Some manage to find work, but unfortunately end up loosing more than they gained. Among them is actor Savi Sidhu, who was once a part of several good films and garnered recognition for his small roles. However, his destiny played such a role that he ended up loosing everything and struggled financially.

Savi was born and bought up in Lucknow. He later moved to Chandigarh to try his luck in modelling. Following that, he came back to his hometown to study law. During that time, he also joined theatre to sharpen his acting skills.

Savi started his Bollywood career in 1995 with Taqat. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap noticed his performance and approached him for Paanch. Although the film never released, but Kashyap was highly impressed by his performance and even signed him for Black Friday (2007) and Gulaal (2009). After that, he did few roles in notable projects like Patiala House (2011), Day D (2013), and Bewakoofiyaan (2014).

Savi Sidhu gradually disappeared from the film industry after his last release Bewakoofiyaan. Then, five years later, he was spotted working as a security guard in a multistory building located in Lokhandwala, Andheri West. Film Companion approached him and asked him the reason behind his sudden disappearance from the industry.

During the conversation, Savi stated that he was going through the most difficult phase of his life, “The toughest phase of my life was when I lost my wife. Then my father passed away, and my mother also died, and later my in-laws too. I was left alone. I am all alone.” He said.

Savi revealed that he couldn’t even afford a bus ticket or a film ticket, as his job as a security guard demanded massive work. The former actor said, “It is a 12-hour tough job. It’s a mechanical job. I don’t even have money to buy bus tickets. To watch a film in a theatre is like a dream now. My financial condition is not good.”

Soon after his interview went out, actor Rajkummar Rao and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap reacted to the video, expressing their support to him. However, it has been over five years and we haven’t seen Savi Sidhu making his much-awaited comeback. We hope that he return to the big screen soon and impress masses with his unique roles.
