There are many TV celebs who are adored by the audience. However, while some of them are still together, others have parted ways. Among these, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij are a couple who have been entertaining audiences for quite some time. The duo not only looks adorable on-screen but off-screen too. However, Mahhi and Jay’s life has not always been smooth. The couple has faced numerous struggles in their journey.
In an interview, Mahhi revealed how, despite being married for seven years, they were unable to conceive. But miracles happened, and in 2019, the couple welcomed their daughter, whom they named Tara. However, did you know that Tara was not Mahhi’s first child? The actress and her husband had earlier adopted their caretakers’ children, Khushi and Rajveer.
Back in 2022, during an interview, Mahhi Vij opened up about her pregnancy and the challenges she faced during that time. The actress revealed that her daughter Tara was born prematurely. Mahhi shared that IVF was her only chance to conceive, as her husband Jay was not in favour of surrogacy.
Mahhi also spoke about the emotional turmoil she endured when she had to leave her daughter, Tara, in the NICU for an extended period after her birth.
In a heartfelt interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mahhi Vij candidly discussed her journey to motherhood, the difficulties she faced while trying to conceive, and her deep desire to hold her baby in her arms. She shared the complications she encountered during her pregnancy and revealed that doctors had even recommended surrogacy as an option.
She said, “I had IVF when I was 32, and it did not succeed then. Eventually, I was told by the doctor that I would have to choose IVF again. Later, the doctors suggested surrogacy. But Jay wanted to enjoy the nine months, the full period of having a child. He wanted to experience going to the doctor each month for sonography. He said, ‘I want to enjoy the journey, so this is going to be the last try, and after this, I will not force you.’ IVF is not an easy journey—it has ups and downs, and emotionally, you feel drained. Your health takes a toll, and you put on weight. You give a lot when you are delivering.”
She further added, “Tara was our last try, and it worked. After that, even if 100 injections were given to me, they didn’t feel painful because I knew this was for my daughter’s well-being. During my pregnancy, I had to get shots for a long time, but I was happy because it was part of the process. Life is not always smooth, and there will be ups and downs. God knows who can bear the pain and come out stronger, and I did. Tara was born prematurely. That time, I broke down once when she wasn’t leaving the ventilator. But otherwise, I stayed positive. I believed she would recover soon. I knew she was in good hands, getting the best treatment, and since we had done no wrong, nothing wrong would happen to us.”
Mahhi concluded on a positive note, sharing her strength and resilience through her journey to motherhood.
