We are talking about an actress who was a model and a beauty pageant titleholder. She won the title of Femina Miss India International 1995 and represented India at Miss International 1995. She appeared in Hindi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Bhojpuri movies. Known for her romantic roles, this actress has worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Chandrachur Singh, Suniel Shetty, Mohan Babu and several popular stars.
She made her debut in acting with 1996’s Tere Mere Sapne, but it didn’t turn out well as it was a big time flop. Though, people didn’t like the movie, she was well appreciated for her facial features. The audience started comparing her with Aishwarya Rai who had then won the title of the Miss World 1994 pageant. Aishwarya made her debut in 1997 with Mani Ratnam’s movie Iruvar. Both these actresses started their careers simultaneously but while Aishwarya became a superstar, this actress’ career kept on sinking.
Coming back to this actress now, she was seen opposite Sanjay Kapoor in a movie that became a commercial success at the box office. Made on a budget of Rs 3 crore, the movie earned Rs 11 crore. We are talking about actress Priya Gill, who was seen in the movie Sirf Tum as Aarti, the love interest of Deepak, played by Sanjay Kapoor. This film helped Priya to gain popularity. However, in Josh, she was the love interest of Shah Rukh Khan and was again compared to Aishwarya Rai who was also in the movie.
After trying her hand at several movies, she distanced herself from the film industry. Although she appeared in films in various other languages after 2006, she did not achieve success there either. Eventually, Priya decided to step away from films and has been absent from the screen for the past 17 years.
