The controversy that led to a legal battle

The famous TV serial released in 2015, and “Angoori Bhabhi” aka Shilpa Shinde’s comic timing, charm, and simplicity garnered her massive popularity. However, this love and appreciation for the portrayal of this character didn’t last for Shilpa. Shilpa and the producers, especially Binaifer Kohli and then-channel head Vikas Gupta, had serious disputes leading to a mid-way exit from the show. The dispute later led to a long legal battle.

After Shilpa Shinde left the show, she was replaced by who Shubhangi Atre stepped in as the new Angoori. Although it was challenging for Shubhangi to make space for herself for a role that was associated with Shilpa, she managed to do it well.

After “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain”, Shilpa went on to win Bigg 11, and she also appeared in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. Later, she was seen in playing the role of ACP Naina Mathur, and was briefly seen supporting contestants on Bigg Boss 18 through social media.
