It has been over a decade since Tanushree Dutta stepped away from the entertainment world, but people still remember her as the actress opposite Emraan Hashmi in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Though her career was short-lived, but her performances left an indelible mark in the industry.

Tanushree comes from a typical Bengali Hindu family. She completed her schooling from D.B.M.S. English School, and later attended Savitribai Phule Pune University for higher studies. After completing her studies, she ventured into modeling, and witnessed life altering moment in 2004 when she won the Femina Miss Indian tile, which rose her to national stardom. The same year, she emerged as the sixth-runner up at Miss Universe in Ecuador.

In 2005, Tanushree stepped into the world of cinema, marking her Bollywood debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. While she had a promising start in the Hindi film industry, many of her films later struggled to find an audience. Some of her films like Bhagam Bhag, Dhol, 36 China Town failed to become commercial hits.

In 2010, Tanushree ventured into South Indian cinema with Tamil film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, directed by Thiru. The actress was last seen in the television series Supercops Vs Super Villains (2013). After that, she moved to United States, distancing herself from the limelight.
