There are few stories in the film industry as surprising as Raashii Khanna’s. Long before she was dazzling audiences on screen, she was an academic topper and a UPSC aspirant who had her sights set on becoming an IAS officer. Acting wasn’t even on the horizon until destiny had other plans.
Raashii, who hails from Delhi, completed her schooling at St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School and later pursued her Bachelor’s degree in English (Honours) from Lady Shri Ram College. A studious and focused student, she once spent hours preparing for civil services exams, unaware that her name would one day shine in film credits instead of merit lists.
Her journey to stardom began quite unexpectedly. During her college years, Raashii dabbled in copywriting for advertisements, a creative detour that introduced her to the entertainment world. She soon started featuring in commercials, and her expressive face caught the attention of filmmakers.
Shoojit Sircar was among the first to notice her potential, casting her in a supporting role in Madras Cafe (2013), opposite John Abraham. That small yet impactful debut set the tone for a flourishing acting career. The following year, she entered Telugu cinema with Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014), which marked the beginning of her strong presence in South Indian films.
Raashii has built an impressive portfolio across multiple film industries. She has worked with top stars including Shahid Kapoor, Jr NTR, John Abraham, and Naga Chaitanya. Her performances in Bengal Tiger (2015), Tholi Prema (2018), Prati Roju Pandage (2019), and Sardar (2022) have earned her both critical and audience appreciation.
Her Bollywood recognition grew with digital hits like Rudra: The Edge of Darkness (2022) alongside Ajay Devgn and the blockbuster series Farzi (2023) with Shahid Kapoor.
The actress shows no signs of slowing down. She has Talaakhon Mein Ek with Vikrant Massey, Telusu Kada opposite Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Srinidhi Shetty, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan in the pipeline.
Her Hindi projects include an untitled web series and 120 Bahadur opposite Farhan Akhtar, slated for release in November 2025. She’s also part of Bridge, co-starring R Madhavan.
According to Dainik Jagran, Raashii Khanna’s estimated net worth in 2025 stands between Rs 55 to Rs 58 crore. Her income comes mainly from films, OTT projects, and brand endorsements. She reportedly charges between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 2 crore per film, a testament to her growing popularity across industries.
From a girl who once dreamt of clearing UPSC to a pan-India actress adored by millions, Raashii Khanna’s journey is proof that sometimes, life’s best scripts are written by fate itself. She may have left behind her IAS books, but she’s aced the test of stardom with grace, hard work, and an undeniable screen presence.
