This actress became an overnight sensation with her enchanting performance in the song Kabhi To Nazar Milao, which captured the hearts of millions. Known for her striking beauty and doe-like eyes, she made a lasting impact on the audience. She became the first Indian to win the prestigious Mrs. World title and remains the only supermodel who is also a qualified doctor and psychologist. Despite her professional success, her personal life was marked by turmoil, especially when she fell in love during her medical practice.

Today we are talking about Aditi Govitrikar, her love story began with a senior colleague, Mufazzal Lakdawala, with whom she reportedly had a six-year relationship. When the time came to marry, her family became the “villains” in her love story, opposing the match due to his different religious background. Undeterred by their objections, Aditi followed her heart. After their marriage, she converted to Islam and changed her name to Sara Lakdawala. However, despite her efforts, the couple’s love story had a tragic end, with their marriage breaking apart.

Aditi, originally a brilliant student from Panvel, Maharashtra, had always been admired for her intellect, but it was her beauty that captured the spotlight. After completing her MBBS, she ventured into modeling and won the 1996 Gladrags MegaModel contest. Her career took off, but her personal life was far from smooth.

In 1997, after graduating from medical school, Aditi and Mufazzal decided to marry, despite the resistance from her parents, who disapproved of the union due to religious differences. Under civil and Muslim laws, the couple got married in 1998,  and Aditi practiced Islam. They went on to become parents to two children but as time passed cracks began to appear in their relationship.

The pressures of Mufazzal’s busy schedule and Aditi’s professional commitments led to growing tensions. Rumors of their troubled marriage began circulating, and in 2008, the couple parted ways. Aditi retained custody of their children. She remained silent amidst the controversies, but in a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, she revealed the emotional toll of the separation. “The worst moment of my life was when I couldn’t save my marriage,” she admitted, reflecting on her inability to hold onto the relationship she had fought for.

Fifteen years after her divorce, Aditi still carries the weight of regret. She confessed, “I often think, how did this happen to me? I wish we could sit down one day and resolve things. After a fight, everything should be put to rest, but there’s so much left unsaid.” Despite the passage of time, the pain of an unresolved past continues to linger for her. Aditi Govitrikar’s love story reminds us that, despite the brightest careers, the heart can still endure the deepest wounds.
