Today we are talking about Bollywood actress Rimi Sen started her career with strong performances alongside Bollywood’s biggest stars. She featured in films like Bagban, Hungama, Dhoom, Kyun Ki, and Phir Hera Pheri, working with icons like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Akshay Khanna. However, despite her early success, she has been away from the limelight for several years.
Rimi Sen began her career as a child artist and was also a part of several advertisements. She made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in the comedy Hungama, which became a big hit. Her role alongside Ajay Devgn in Golmaal: Fun Unlimited also received a great response.
Despite her early success, Rimi took a sudden break from acting. Her last appearances were in Thank You and Shagird in 2011, after which she stepped away from acting. In 2016, she entered the film industry as a producer with Budhia Singh – Born to Run.
In an interview, Rimi admitted that she felt responsible for her own career downfall. She revealed that as a classical dancer, acting came naturally to her, but her roles mostly involved being a background character who was just there to cry. With only comedy films being offered, she felt like “furniture” in the movies. Consequently, she decided to leave the industry.
Rimi also opened up about her mistakes, stating that she is solely to blame for the direction her career took. She even shared that Salman Khan once gave her a warning about her career choices.
Rimi appeared as a contestant on Bigg Boss Season 9, where she confessed that she couldn’t handle tasks and was unwilling to put in the hard work. She admitted that acting wasn’t her calling and that she had chosen the wrong profession.
Salman Khan, during the Bigg Boss season, reportedly warned her to take her career seriously and understand the gravity of the situation. He cautioned her that if she didn’t change her attitude, no one would offer her work once she left the show. Rimi, however, made it clear that she didn’t want to continue working. Since then, she has remained absent from the acting scene. Now, years later, Rimi is away from the world of acting and has been largely forgotten by the industry.
