Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk is making waves across the nation with its strong narrative and characters. Based on a real-life story, the movie revolves around a cancer survivor, who is facing life-altering surgery as well as navigating an intricate relationship with his daughter. While the movie’s cast includes several known celebrities, including Abhishek Bachchan and Johny Lever, it also features a new actor as the protagonist’s daughter, Reya.
Ahilya Bamroo, a social media content creator, is known for her flawless ability to mimic accents, play the guitar and perform songs across various genres. She has made her acting debut in the film, I Want To Talk, in the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s daughter, marking a significant milestone in her career.
At just 22 years old, Ahilya Bamroo already has a following of 462K on her social media handle. She’s fluent in French, English, Bengali and Hindi. She takes inspiration for her engaging content from her upbringing in Auroville, Pondicherry.
She initially rose to fame through a viral accent challenge video where she pronounced Indian names in a French accent, attracting 7.5 million views. Additionally, as a self-taught guitarist, she has gained recognition for her creative covers of popular songs, including those by Taylor Swift.
I Want To Talk tells the poignant real-life story of Arjun Sen, director Shoojit Sircar’s friend and a USA-based NRI facing life-altering surgery, who looks at the brighter side of life whilst navigating a complex relationship with his daughter, Reya, as a single parent.
The movie is written by Ritesh Shah and produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works. Apart from Abhishek Bachchan and Ahilya Bamroo, the movie also features Banita Sandhu, Johny Lever, Pearl Dey and Jayant Kriplani, amongst others. The background score of the movie is composed by George Joseph and the soundtrack is composed by Taba Chake.
