While he did achieve great success in the film industry his younger brother Ajitabh Bachchan played a crucial role in making Amitabh’s dream come true. When Ajitabh introduced Amitabh Bachchan to Bollywood

What’s even more surprising is that it was Ajitabh Bachchan who actually introduced Amitabh to the world of Bollywood. According to media reports, both brothers studied at the same school and college and later moved to Kolkata where they worked together. Despite this Amitabh always had a desire to pursue acting. It was Ajitabh who took the initiative to send Amitabh’s photographs to film producers. Initially, Amitabh’s photos were rejected but eventually, one of his pictures was selected.

This led to Amitabh getting his first film offer and marking the beginning of his successful film career. While Amitabh had always dreamed of becoming a hero, it was his brother Ajitabh who made it possible. Amitabh eventually moved to Mumbai to pursue his acting career while Ajitabh continued working in Kolkata. Once Amitabh became a prominent actor Ajitabh moved to Mumbai and started managing Amitabh’s work. If anyone wanted to meet or speak with Amitabh they had to go through Ajitabh first. In fact, Ajitabh took on the role of Amitabh’s manager for a time.

Interestingly, when Amitabh ventured into politics Ajitabh moved to London and started a business which according to reports was funded by Amitabh. Ajitabh became quite successful in his business and his wife Ramola was also involved. However, their relationship faced some strain during the Bofors scandal when Amitabh’s name was linked to the controversy. This affected Ajitabh’s business and he had to relocate from London to Belgium. Eventually, both brothers were cleared of any wrongdoing. According to reports Ajitabh Bachchan’s net worth is estimated at Rs 166.68 crore.

When Ajitabh and Amitabh’s relationship came to an end

In a rare admission, Ajitabh once shared that the distance between him and Amitabh grew when some of Amitabh’s political friends came into his life. Later, when Amitabh started his own company Ajitabh became a partner but the company eventually failed further straining their relationship. The brothers were always united by their desire to make their father Harivansh Rai Bachchan happy but after his passing, they grew apart. Ajitabh was even absent from the engagement ceremony of Amitabh’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and son Abhishek Bachchan.

However, reports suggest that the brothers have since reconciled and Ajitabh returned to India from London in 2007. He also divorced his wife Ramola and they have four children: three daughters and one son. One of their daughters Naina married Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor and the brothers were seen together at the wedding after a long time.
