In a quiet but heartwarming turn of events, Anisha Padukone, younger sister of Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, is gearing up for her wedding to businessman Rohan Acharya. While the families have not yet issued an official announcement, preparations are said to be in full swing, and the industry is already buzzing about the union. What makes this marriage even more noteworthy is the connection it creates. Anisha will become an extended member of the Deol family, thanks to Rohan Acharya’s family ties.
Rohan’s sister, Drisha Acharya, is married to Karan Deol, the son of actor Sunny Deol. With this upcoming wedding, two worlds, sports royalty and celebrated film lineage, are coming together in a seamless blend.
A report by Deccan Chronicle quoted a source revealing an unexpected connection behind the pairing, “Ranveer Singh could play the role of Cupid. Ranveer’s parents and Sumit Acharya are very close. It’s a wonderful family. Anisha and Rohan have met at many events, so they naturally gel.”
This small detail alone has added a layer of curiosity and warmth to the story.
Anisha, born on February 2, 1991, is far more than just a star sibling. Based in Bengaluru with her parents, badminton icons Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone, she has built her own path grounded in both education and sport. Having completed her degree in economics, sociology, and psychology, she went on to carve out a career in professional golf.
But her role stretches beyond the sports arena.
At 34, Anisha also serves as the CEO of Live Love Laugh, the mental health foundation founded by her sister Deepika Padukone in 2015. Her contribution to the organisation has been central to its work.
The foundation’s website notes that Anisha has played an “instrumental role” since she joined the organisation in 2016, contributing to its expansion and on-ground impact.
Her LinkedIn profile further explains her responsibilities in her own words, “At LiveLoveLaugh, I provide strategic leadership across program development, fundraising, policy outreach and other areas. During my tenure as the CEO, LLL has emerged as a leading voice in India’s mental health sector, delivering impactful change in championing marginalised communities.”
This gives a clear picture of the depth she brings to her work, something that is often hidden behind the glamour associated with the Padukone name.
While there has been no confirmed date so far, reports suggest that arrangements have already begun. An official announcement from the families is expected soon, and the event is likely to be a private, close-knit celebration.
For now, the upcoming wedding stands as a beautiful merging of families, values, and legacies.
