Today we will be sharing a story of an actress who decided to leave the world of glitz and glamour and joined Rs 28000 crore firm. She has worked with superstars like Ajay Devgn, Mahesh Babu, Sanjay Dutt and even gave a cult classic movie. However, after a series of flop, she quit Bollywood. We are talking about none other than Mayoori Kango.
Mayoori entered the Bollywood industry in the 1990s and quickly made a name for herself. She made her debut with film Papa Kehte Hain (1996). Her acting garnered favourable reviews, despite the fact that it wasn’t a critical or commercial success. Later she appeared in films like Badal (2000), Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet (1999), and Betaabi (1997). She transitioned to television and acted as Karishma Kapoor’s daughter in the serials Dollar Bahu (2001) and Karishma: The Miracles of Destiny (2003).
Later, her career trajectory went downwards as most of her films failed to perform well at the box office. She even tried her luck in the South film industry and starred in films like Vamsi alongside Mahesh Babu, however, the film also failed to perform well both critically and financially. Reportedly, her 16 films got shelved and she was tagged ‘unlucky for producers’.

In 2003, the actress got married to an NRI Aditya Dhillon and move to New York after marriage. Later, she made a decision to complete her studies and attend an MBA. She enrolled in the MBA in Marketing and Finance program at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. Later between 2004 and 2012, she worked in America. In 2013, she moved back to India and began working as a managing director for a firm called Performix.
According to a report by DNA, Mayoori in fact had earlier gotten through the IIT entrance exam, getting selected at the IIT Kanpur campus. However, she did not go forward with it as she wanted to focus on her acting career.
In 2019, she joined Google India and was later promoted to Industry head. She currently works at Google India as the Head of Industry- Agency Partnership, reportedly with a salary package of Rs 1 crore. Her transformation from an actress to the head of Google India is indeed phenomenal and motivating.
