We have heard many stories about famous Bollywood stars, including some singers who were once part of the acting world. In the past, singers didn’t receive the same recognition as actors. However, times have changed, and now people are just as interested in the voices behind the scenes. Today, a singer’s fan following is often as massive as that of any movie star.

In the current industry, many artists are loved not only for their voices but also for their looks. One such singer is someone who has won hearts with his romantic songs and, at one point, charmed everyone with his acting in films. His name isn’t Ayushmann Khurrana or Himesh Reshammiya.

We’re talking about the legendary singer Udit Narayan, who ruled the 90s and continues to hold a special place in people’s hearts. Before making a name in the world of music, Udit Narayan also had a stint in films.

Udit Narayan acted in two films, one of which became a huge blockbuster. When he was young, Udit played the lead role in the 1985 Nepali film Kusume Rumal. During his appearance on Indian Idol 10, Udit Narayan spoke about the success of Kusume Rumal, sharing that the film earned so much at the box office that it took years for its record to be broken. It became an all-time classic in Nepali cinema.

Following that, Udit Narayan also acted in another Nepali film, Darpan Chhaya. Although he is a household name in India, Udit is still known more as a hero than a singer in Nepal, where his father was from, and his wife was also a renowned folk singer.
Udit Narayan, also known as the “King of Melodies,” is loved for his hit songs like Ud Ja Kaale Kaawa, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Ghanan Ghanan, Aisa Desh Hai Mera, and Ye Bandhan To. His song Papa Kehte Hain from the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak became iconic, earning him a permanent place in the hearts of listeners.

Udit Narayan has sung thousands of songs in various Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Bhojpuri. For his outstanding contribution to music, he has won the National Award four times.
