Today, we are talking about one such actress, who is not Indian but came to India to make her Bollywood career successful. The actress we are referring to is someone who hails from Tehran, got married to a Hindu man, but her life took a U-turn and things went sour. We are talking about Mandana Karimi.
Born into a Muslim family in Tehran, Karimi’s father is of Indian origin and her mother is Indian. She frequently visited India and spent time at her maternal grandparents’ place. Mandana Karimi made her debut in the Hindi film Bhaag Johnny after achieving success in various modeling projects globally.
She gained widespread recognition as a contestant on the popular reality TV show Bigg Boss 9, where she finished as the second runner-up in 2015. Iranian model Mandana Karimi became a household name following her appearance on the ninth season of Bigg Boss, hosted by superstar Salman Khan.
After trying her luck in Bollywood, Mandana decided to settle down. She married businessman Gaurav Gupta in 2017, but their relationship did not last long, and they separated. Karimi also filed a domestic violence case against her ex-husband.

Seven weeks after the wedding, Mandana claimed she was thrown out of her in-laws’ home. She said her ex-husband had severed all ties with her. In her petition, Mandana sought Rs 10 lakh in monthly maintenance, in addition to Rs 2 crore as compensation for the “loss and trauma to her career and business,” as reported by Mid-Day.
Mandana claimed that after the wedding, her in-laws forced her to stop working in films, as they felt that her profession was “not in keeping with their family’s status in society.”
Not only this, Mandana Karimi told Mid-Day, “I was thrown out of my in-laws’ house seven weeks ago. I tried a lot to reconcile with them, but my in-laws did not let me come back. Gaurav has broken all ties with me.” She also accused her in-laws of abusing her.
Before venturing into films, Mandana Karimi appeared in several TV commercials alongside stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and Arjun Kapoor.
