Bollywood is a space where religion is not a barrier. Every actor, whether Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or Sikh, embraces each other’s religion and uplifts them in the most beautiful way. Today, we will tell you about an actress who is a Muslim but holds dear to the moral beliefs of Hinduism. In an interview, this actress opened up about her religion, belief, and her faith. Despite being a Muslim, this actress has visited holy Hindu sites such as Vaishno Devi, Kedarnath temple, Badrinath temple, and more. If you are wondering who this actress is, then let us tell you, we are talking about Nushrratt Bharuccha.

Nushrratt has been in news for her recent release Chhorii 2. The movie has been gaining all the love and appreciation from the audience as well as critics. Inspired by folklore, Nushrratt’s movie draws inspiration from real-life horrors like female foeticide and patriarchal societal pressures.

Nushrratt was born into a Dawoodi Bohra Muslim family and always had an inclination towards acting. She started her career in television with a small role in the show Kittie Party when she was a teenager. She made her Bollywood debut four years later with the devotional movie Jai Santoshi Maa. However, Nushrratt’s major breakthrough came when she featured in Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha, followed by a much bigger commercial success Pyaar Ka Punchnama.

Now, coming to Nushrratt’s belief, in a recent conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, she revealed the reason for visiting Vaishno Devi. She revealed that after visiting places like Vaishno Devi and Kedarnath, she felt a sense of relief, and hence she loves to visit places like these.

She said, “I sat there. I was just feeling. Even the sound of the wind was coming. When I came out after the darshan and I went to whisper something in the ears of Nandi Bhagwan, Nusrat Bharucha’s voice came from the crowd. I was surprised that at the same time the bell rang, someone called my name.”

Not only that, in one of her other interviews, Nushrratt said that she thoroughly believed in numerology and hence she changed her name from Nushrat Bharucha to Nushrratt Bharuccha. She also said that she had kept fasts for 16 Fridays for Maa Santoshi. Not just that, she also offers Namaz.

Talking about how her family reacted to her decisions, the actress said that her parents and grandparents are very open-minded and have always taught her that religion and faith are a person’s personal matters.
