Recalling back, we can see how several actors have contributed immensely to the film industry and till date their work is highly appreciated. One such actress starred alongside several superstars, including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, and more. Despite being at the peak of her career, she ultimately chose to quit the world of glitz and glam. We are taking about none other than Rimi Sen.
The 2000s diva, is much renowned and celebrated for her roles in Hindi, Telugu and Bengali films. Born as Subhamitra Sen, Rimi started her career as a model. She later made her debut as a child actress in the Bengali film, Damu (1996), followed by her lead debut in 2002 with the Telugu film, Nee Thodu Kavali. Following that, she stepped into Bollywood with the comedy film, Hungama (2003).
She then rose to stardom with popular roles in films like Baghban (2003), Dhoom (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Kyon Ki (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Johnny Gaddaar (2007) and many more. At one point, her stardom could actually beat other A-list actresses including Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone. But things changed for her by the end of decade.
By 2009, she had few films and that too, not a very successful one. She was last seen in Shagird (2011), and her last production film was Budhia Singh. In addition to this, she also ventured into television and participated in Bigg Boss (2015) and dance reality show called Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (2016).
Ever since then, Rimi distanced herself from films and has been away from the limelight for the past 13 years. Most recently, Rimi was is in the news for her alleged plastic surgery. The rumours started when the actress’ before and after pictures went viral of social media, many claiming that Rimi had gone under the knife. However, the actress denied all the speculations and clarified that she has only gotten “fillers, Botox, and PRP treatment” done.
