Shashi Kapoor's grandson, Zahan Kapoor will be making his OTT debut in the upcoming web series Black Warrant on Netflix.

Late superstar Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan Kapoor is set to make his OTT debut with Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming web series Black Warrant. The Netflix-starrer show introduces Zahan as a newly appointed jailer in Tihar Jail who grapples with the challenges of adapting to the harsh environment while his colleagues urge him to stay strong. The teaser also shows the raw and unfiltered reality of prison life.

This web series marks Zahan Kapoor’s OTT debut along with Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur and Sidhant Gupta in pivotal roles. Zahan also dropped the teaser of the show with a caption, “India ki sabse khaufnaak jail mein ek naya jailer aaya hai Based on certain real events – Black Warrant, out 10 January! Only on Netflix.”

Who is Zahan Kapoor?

Zahan Kapoor belongs to one of the most influential Bollywood families. Born on 11 March 1992, he is a grandson of late superstar Shashi Kapoor and the son of Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy. His great-grandfather on his paternal side are actors Prithviraj Kapoor and Geoffrey Kendal. While his maternal grandfather is film director, actor and produce Ramesh Sippy. Bollywood actors Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are his second cousins.

Kapoor entered films by assisting theatre director Sunil Shanbag in a workshop for children. Later, he started gaining more practical experience by taking part in theatre plays or similar other activities. He finally got his breakthrough with Hansal Mehta’s Faraaz in 2002. Following his debut, he starred in a play Siachen written by Aditya Rawal and directed by Makarand Deshpande, portraying the survival story of Indian soldiers stuck on the Siachen Glacier. Apart from acting, Zahan is also passionate about photography. He loves to share dramatic pictures with his followers on social media.

Meanwhile, Zahan’s debut show Black Warrant will be exclusively premiered on Netflix on January 10, 2025. Apart from that, the actor also has Akshat Verma’s Janta Manta to be released on Amazon Prime Video.
