It was Udit Narayan’s niece’s wedding. He had gone to Patna to attend the wedding with his wife Deepa. After returning from the wedding, he was preparing to sleep in the hotel room when about 100-150 people gathered outside his hotel and started creating a ruckus. Those people were making serious allegations against Udit Narayan. Seeing the matter getting worse, the hotel staff came to Udit Narayan and told him about the people’s complaints. The staff said- ‘Some people have come, who say that there is a woman with them who is your wife.’ Udit Narayan replied, ‘I have only one wife, who is with me in the room right now. There is no question of having any other wife.’
After listening to the singer’s answer, the hotel staff said that a woman named Ranjana Jha was standing outside, claiming herself to be your wife. Not only this, she has also brought the wedding photos with her and the bank account passbook, which is a joint account of Udit Narayan and Ranjana Jha. The woman also said that she and Udit Narayan got married in 1984.
After listening to the hotel staff, Deepa said that she had known Udit since 1978 and they got married in 1982 in Devi Kali temple. Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot and got very upset after hearing the statements of both women. On the other hand, the police immediately took Udit Narayan and his second wife out from there and took them to the airport.
After this, Ranjana Jha complained to the Bihar Women’s Commission. Seeing the truth in Ranjana’s words, Udit Narayan’s relatives also came to Ranjana’s side. On the other hand, the general public also started supporting Ranjana. Then there was a discussion about Udit Narayan and Ranjana from newspapers to radio. In support of Ranjana Jha, Nepal Radio even banned Udit Narayan’s songs, however when the matter became bigger, Udit Narayan accepted that Ranjana Jha was his wife.
