On this Holi, the crowned king of remakes, Tanishk Bagchi, has kept up with the trend of recreating popular Bollywood songs. The much-anticipated song ‘Mere Angne Mein’ starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Bigg Boss 13 fame Asim Riaz is out and it is not the song we were waiting for. The song shows time travel and it is an old concept of early 2000’s. The conceptualisation and backdrop are different than any other Holi song but it fails to keep up the charm of the original track. The song is set in the backdrop of Holi celebration and time travel. In the song, Jacqueline is seen as a princess in a traditional outfit and jewellery, who is set to marry an old king. On the other hand, Asim plays the role of a modern handsome man, who time travels and falls in love with Jacqueline. The video is set between 1435 AD and 2020. The song features sizzling chemistry between the two and it has already garnered four lakh views within few minutes. The track is a recreational version of Amitabh Bachchan’s popular song ‘Mere Angne Mein’ from the film Laawaris (1981). The remix version is crooned by Neha Kakkar and Raja Hasan and the music has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi. The lyrics have been penned down by Vayu.

Talking about the song, Jacqueline had shared with a news agency recently, “The song is very relevant and modern and will be extremely fun. I loved just the idea of it, too. The tale we’re telling through this music video is magical. The concept of the song and the music video were too enticing, for me to pass it up. The choreography and the steps are traditional and desi but has a modern touch too which overall fits beautifully in this story of eternal love. The team and I have been prepping and rehearsing to get every nuance right.”

Expressing her excitement over working with Asim, Jacqueline told IANS, “I am super excited to be working with Asim Riaz for the first time. The music video is going to be a visual treat for everyone. We’re looking forward to everyone seeing it. I really loved working on this, because it was a passion project for me.”
